Let's launch a festival that celebrates the typewriter, invented in Milwaukee 150 years ago! - In 1868, Milwaukee's Christopher Latham Sholes patented one of the first commercially made typewriters creating a new form of communication that changed the world, from business documents to periodicals to the love letter, one piece of paper – or carbon paper – at a time.June 23, 2023 is National Typewriter Day and the year marks the 150-year anniversary of Shole's invention.
