On hot afternoons after lunch— four square ball in hand and red wagon with 1 or more of us kids—we’d walk to the book mobile and check out books. I loved the book mobile, a movable library with books, crafts and easy access to the playground. Now as an adult, with my own kids, after studying urban planning and living in Detroit and Cleveland, I passed by vacant lots in town
