Canarios bring with them their colorful traditions that still live on today in this historic farm town. One of these is the ancient religious celebration called Las Máscaras, commemorated the 28th of December during the "Day of the Innocents". Since the foundation of Hatillo to this day, the people of this town go out and celebrate the "Day of the Innocents" in a unique way: dressing in colorful and eccentric hand-made attire while wearing matching masks that hide their identity.
