The Buttonwood Colored School is a historical landmark in desperate need of repairs. - My name is Consuella, and I am the President for the Buttonwood Colored School Museum and Community Center. As a long-standing resident of the community of Buttonwood I am fully aware of the historical significance of this building and its impact to not only the community but to the state. When I think of the Buttonwood School, I am reminded of the alumni’s struggle and the pain taking steps it took to preserve this landmark and to bring it back to life .
