The Three Brotherteers brings to life children’s ability to to go on an imaginative adventure where autism isn’t a barrier. - Hi, my name is Iris Knightley and I’m the author of The Three Brotherteers. I am the mother of three wonderful young boys, Barris, Kensington and Zachary. My oldest son Barris was diagnosed with autism at the age of three; Barris is non-verbal and unable to read or write. One afternoon, I was watching my children play with each other and I was simply amazed by how autism isn’t a factor in their interactions with one another. My children simply see Barris for who he is; they don’t see him by his autistic label. Our journey as a family inspired me to write my book, The Three Brotherteers. I decided to take a pen to paper and write a vivacious and classic story of three young brothers who go on an adventurous journey, as they race about outside on a chilly autumn even
