Words can be pronounced the same but spelled differently. 2. Words that sound the same can have totally different meanings.  That can be challenging for young children just beginning to understand the language, for those with English as a second language, and for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (some of our friends at BEST BUDDIES). One of the best things to do with challenges is to make the challenge fun. So (not sew), have fun with the HEAR what’s HERE picture book. It may clear some things up.
